After the interest expressed in our recent news article, I've taken a couple more pics of the ships – (I'm posting them here rather than in the news thread as it's already slid off the main page).

picture

You can see a bit more of the detail there, plus I've added the largest dwarf ship too, for comparison. Those are 5mm squares.

If you keep an eye on our facebook page link I'll add other pics as they are cast up.
also, if anyone knows of any other simple, enjoyable fantasy naval rules let me know ;-)

Geez Louise, I always wondered what those ships looked like!!

The answer was, apparently, "just like Man-O-War, if done by a competent sculptor, and not a kindergartner"!

Me like!

That medieval looking ship at the back will have some obvious uses for me I think :)

Oh, you're writing rules. What a surprise… ;->=

How about Uncharted Seas?

Icing on the cake!

The galleon in the middle looks fabulous!

Lion in the Stars22 Aug 2013 2:44 p.m. PST

I'm not very taken with the Ironclad, but I sure like those tall ladies!

David Manley22 Aug 2013 2:47 p.m. PST

Actually yes, the galleon would be useful for another project of mine…..

Spacelord22 Aug 2013 3:49 p.m. PST

@cpbelt thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at uncharted seas- free rules pdfs are always a winner with me :-)

and those squares are 10mm not 5mm, what an eejit :-p

The large galleon is a lovely little model. I had no plans to do any naval gaming but once I'd glued the sails in and stared at it for while it got my gamey itch going :-) (must get some cream for that…)

ancientsgamer22 Aug 2013 3:52 p.m. PST

Oh yes, loads of interest from our local group I can assure you. Please expand the range! Also, wouldn't mind seeing new nations based on other Demonworld armies…. yes!

Those ships are nice. They look like they would work for a Mighty Empires game I'm thinking of doing-by that I mean Italian Wars,so the galleons would work, not the ironclad.

Btw,I have a question-Did Ral Partha become so unwieldy that it split into two companies,Ral Partha and Ral Partha Europe? The original Ral Partha is defunct,so does that mean that Ral Partha Europe is going to attempt to re-conquer Cincinnati? :)

I have just one question: How much will they cost?
(Including shipping to the U.S.A.)

thumbs up

Spacelord22 Aug 2013 4:18 p.m. PST

Ral Partha Europe was set up around 12 years ago to supply Battletech and partha fantasy in Europe. We are a completely separate company so once Partha US was wound up we were left flying the Partha flag on our own :-p
We try and abbreviate it to RPE now as much as possible to stave off the questions about old partha figures and licenses that are from before our time, and since then we've added DSA and demonworld so we've departed from the initial plan a fair bit anyway :-)

We have no designs on Cincinnati, I believe Iron wind metals have that covered ;-)

Spacelord22 Aug 2013 4:21 p.m. PST

no idea about cost yet, we'll cast them up, weigh them and work something out- they should be on sale early September -it would be sooner but I'm taking a long overdue week off first ;-)

Rottcodd22 Aug 2013 4:38 p.m. PST

I really like them too. Looking forward to you releasing them!

CPBelt22 Aug 2013 7:56 p.m. PST

I always wanted to buy these ships and other bits from empire. I look forward to them.

Twonky23 Aug 2013 10:08 a.m. PST

Like these a lot. Just not sure which rules to use with them.

The Beast Rampant23 Aug 2013 10:29 a.m. PST

and those squares are 10mm, not 5mm…

Oops, I didn't see that! I was thinking 1".

Well, they would fit in pretty well with Valiant's 1:1200.

This also reminds me that I really need to tackle my Dreadfleet set…

Coelacanth26 Aug 2013 7:06 a.m. PST

These look great! I definitely want some.

Iron wind metals have that covered ;-)

Not for Crucible Dwarf Ornithopters (steam dragons), which you have. Actually, the office wench offered to go look for the molds, but in THIS heat???

Dear lady, and TOO valuable to be wasted on such a quest. ;->=

Yes, the ships are lovely, and looking forward to having to pay exorbitantly to get them across the pond… *sigh*

Early September now, any news? :)

Spacelord06 Sep 2013 2:54 p.m. PST

not long now- I'm back from holiday (thoroughly worn out from hiking around Yorkshire carrying children of various sizes) and caught up with the minor backlog -look for a news article soon ;-)
