The lads and I are embarking on a WSS [War of the Spanish Succesion] project, and I have selected the Dutch as my faction. I have zero time to devote to painting them, so looking for a very good 28 mm painter. A plus is if they are familiar with the conflict, and have the research materials necessary. I have flags and the figures, and you won't need to base them. I anticipate this project will be roughly 5-6 18 figure regiments with each regiment looking different [potentially, I assume]. 2-3 cavalry regts, of 12 or so figures, and a couple of artillery batteries along with some generals. It would be a fun project for me if I had the time.

I live in Kansas City, so would prefer someone that is in the States. I can do PayPal, and send you periodic payments as you send me the completed troops. [Or, any other way that you prefer].

Thanks.

Dave

Oh, also would love to see [not in the flesh necessarily], examples of your work.

I've had nice work from Pictor's Studio.

Scott and Jaime are very good to work with. Just make sure you give them as much painting info as possible. That's good advice for any painting service you end up selecting.

I live in Canada, so it was easy for me to drop off my commissions at the HMGS conventions, where they are vendors. Generally, I would pick up the completed work at the next Con. That may not be applicable for you though.

What are you willing to pay? What is your budget?

David Smith22 Aug 2013 8:31 a.m. PST

Well…..I would be willing to go up to $10.00 USD a foot figure if the quality approaches anything that I can paint.

Yes, indeed. They look very good. I sent them an email. Thanks,

I've been painting figures professionally for about 10 years. Have done work for Old Glory, Sash and Saber, Company B and others.

Here are (hopefully) some images of my work, although in 40mm. 28mm would have same quality.

Beautiful work Rober [or is it Robert].

How much 40mm gaming is there? Always been intrigued with that scale.

For good quality wargame figures expect to pay $15 USD-$20 a figure.

I will throw in a word for Rex Blackwell, out of Colorado. Think he is in the TMP list of painting vendors.

Have had some work done by Pictors also. Really like the finished products.

Robert,

Those are some nice looking figures. Do you base the figures as well? What is your average turn around time for something like the Vikings or the ECW figures?

Matthew

wrgmr122 Aug 2013 5:30 p.m. PST

I agree, beautiful paintwork Robert!

R Brown22 Aug 2013 10:27 p.m. PST

Thanks for the compliments Matthew and wrgmr.

Yes, I did base/terrain the Vikings, and all the other figures in the images.

Matthew, if you would like email me at friarbarb@att.net about turn around time , etc.

And, you can't go wrong with Sash and Saber figures, especially their 40mm line…sculpting, pricing, selection are great.
