It's a shot in the dark I know, but was wondering if anybody knows where to find polished wooden bases similar to those on p12 of the recent Wargames Illustrated centred on Attila the Hun.

Figures were painted by Bennett Blalock – Duane, if you see this any chance of letting us in on the secret :-)?

If anybody knows suitable alternatives, 25 – 30 mm diameter, 50 – 60 mm diameter and 100mm circular bases at about 5 – 8 mm thick any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers as always

Try warbases, they are a scottish based company and the chap that runs it (martin) is pretty good at making what you are looking for.

They sell them in packs of 20 or so at Michaels.
There are a variety of sizes.
Most common are the 25mm and 40mm ones.

Hi I'm UK based so not used to Mixhael''s, I'm guessing you are referring to Michael's arts and crafts. Have done a quick product search under wood and nothing similar comes up. Do you have a code or product name? Many thanks for the heads up though.

I see the same brands there as in Michaels.

These are "Wood Shoppe" brand

I also use poker chips.
