In case anyone who's interested missed it, I recently put a report of a recent game of Stono Ferry on my blog:

Terrain and most figures courtesy of Eclaireur; some figures courtesy of me; American generalship and ultimate victory courtesy of the board's own Supercilius Maximus. Rules used were "British Grenadier!".

I like it a lot. The abatis was well done.

The abatis (we need a thread on how to pronounce this) was made from commercially available plastic tree trunks, which you glue and flock yourself. They belong to Eclaireur – he did tell us who makes them, but I've forgotten.

Eclaireur also made the extremely fine redoubts you can see in the photos; not sure what other materials were involved, but he certainly used the new Renedra gabions.

The abatis was made from Woodland Scenics tree armatures, I believe:

I managed to pick up a pack in Modelzone yesterday. EC made the point that you can use the left over tree trunks to create nice little terrain pieces as well.

SM wins a game, blimey you could knock me down with a feather!
His latest performance at Vandering's Mill involved ordering the just arrived Stirn's Hessian brigade to move off and engage the enemy which they refused to do. So he resorted to using the brigadiers own initiative which resulted in the whole lot turning about and heading off back the way they came.
It's always nice to play with someone whose die rolling is almost as bad as my own!

It looks like a fun game. Nice AAR too.

"The abatis (we need a thread on how to pronounce this) "

A National Parks film at a battlefield park (Stone's River? Chickamauga? It was one of them) had a historian who pronounced it the French way, ah-bah-TEE.
