Hello, I'm looking for 15mm humans, preferably sci-fi or near future, mounted on non-equine mounts. Something like this:
or
or
Alternately, sci-fi humans mounted on horses in gas masks or other protective gear, such as: link Any suggestions?

Humans? No, but there are several almost-human ones that might make mutants or armored types, especially with some conversion work. Old Glory makes a pair:
link Darkest Star makes another pair: link link And GZG has its Kra'Vak cav:
link Ooop, forgot, Highlander has some in the Space 1889 range:

Rebel Miniatures Post Apoc Riders rebelminis.com/15poapri.html are excellent 'modern' style humans on horseback. I don't like the horses, but the riders are separate casts and so can be mounted on anything you can find. |

You could try converting some, I did. link |

Yup read all those links but, while I have plenty of unpainted raw materials laying around, my conversion/greenstuff skills are nill. Was hoping for something a bit more ready to go. Yes I think those Gashants combined with the posty-apoc riders will be just the ticket. Thanks guys. |

Sorry to hear about the conversion/greenstuff issue. All I need is put a rider on this fella, and he's good to go:

Dan, I thought you were going to convert a GZG crustie to ride your mighty steed? Zephyr40K, there's an example of Rebel Post-Apoc riders on Highlander Studios gashants in the 27 June 2012 entry on my modelling log, here link |

Ouchies, those Gashants look great and are nice and cheap but the website has a $6 USD flat shipping cost per order. No way I'll pay $6 USD for shipping for one $4 USD pack of minis. Maybe I will try converting some termagants after all. |

I am a fan of Zombuesmith's 15mm Mounted Quar

I was looking at old Termagants, with the extra bits on the back: link and thought it looked almost like a saddle. Getting the 'gun' removed would be a bit tricky, but otherwise, would look smashing, and there are some in the used bin not too dear at all. ;->= Thanks for the nudge. Doug Edit: Just realized the ones I saw at the store, least some of them, only had one claw on the weapon, so simpler to modify. |

You should probably just email him and see if he'll cut you a break on the shipping. Failing that, order more than one pack of 15mm figs – there are plenty of other options on his site. Those Martian steppe tigers have some potential as trained hunting beasts tagging along with gashant cavalrymen. |

Any new options for alien riding beasts since the last post here? Thanks, Dan |

the blackpowder scifi range from khurasan. You can get the riding beasts seperate. |

Great idea Dan ,looks a fish with legs,i'll try it out Gunnar, those DoK horses are literally out of this world. Hmm, would be interesting if one could enact a version of the charge of the light brigade in 15mm sci fi
..what? convert & paint 500+ horses, nah I'll settle for the charge of the micro brigade & only do 50 :). How about mounting them on droids ? , like for eg. Gzg spider droids or GW plastic forest goblin spiders ? I'll check them out both & if it works out I'll take pics & post. Z |

Had it made so that rider figures for horses can fit on the Klor, though the legs of the riders might need to be spread a bit. The heads are interchangeable to give more pose variety. |
