Nice looking game and splendid figures. BTW I stand being corrected by those who know better but rifled muskets were the norm (by various manufacturers) for both sides in the civil war – smoothbores were less common though again employed on both sides & especially handy for assault troops. I look forward to seeing some shots of your 1866 exploits. |

Great game and outstanding figs Luke is correct in that by mid-war pretty much everyone had a Springfield or Enfield rifle-musket; that being said, early war Confederate regiments did often have smooth bore muskets- but even early war I would have expected a few of the boys in grey to have rifle muskets That all being said, sounds like a great game! |

Actually, smoothbores were still in use on both sides at mid-war. The 12th New Jersey used their 'pumpkin' slingers' and buck-n'-ball with great effect against Pickett's Charge and I know there were other regiments using them, too. |

I didn't set the game up but giving the Confederates SB muskets was to encourage them to get stuck in and charge the Federals as they had the 'tough fighter' rule from BP that allows them to re roll 1 missed melee attack each turn. |

I like it when the bases of the figures blend in with the table. Great report except the Union won :-( |

Nice use of the "tough fighter" rule then ;-) |

We have been playing ACW w/ BP for about a year now and love it! The WED night group has made a few house rules but the core rules are used. SFC Retired |
