Hi Guys Can anyone tell me if the Perry Miniatures Brits and French from the Carlist War (Isabelino) range suitable to use for the Crimean War? link Any help would be appreciated. Cheers |

Dont think so for the Brits anyway, different shakos. The Carlist ones are the bell topped style, whereas by the Crimea they are back to a narrower shako. |

As Baxterj noted, the British would adopt the Prince Albert Shako plus tunic changes would make their use and the French problematic. You could accelerate the timeline to bring the war to 1830 and have only the Russians to worry about. The uniforms are very smart looking. cheers, |

I've looked at this range also Trailape. I admit it was at their Isabelino FFL Polish Lancers which caught my eye – if by the time I finish all my Brits for Balaclava, I'll use them for my Chasseurs d'Afrique if nobody develops a range by then. Either way, conversions are needed. Their Foreign Legion come damn close to the Crimean War but the trousers are wrong. If you aren't that fussy (I'm afraid I am) then they would pass. |
