What food would you like to see at Battlefield of Dice, the one day wargaming event being held to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project? We are in the final stages and we are trying to determine what food people will what to have while they game. We are working completely off of donations and need to be very careful in our decisions so we need input from those who plan on attending. So if you plan on attending this charity gaming event please let us know what food would you be willing to buy for a minimal price? Based on the facilities available to us we can handle basics like hotdogs and possibly burgers (depending on who cooks). What would you like to see there? Hotdogs, burgers, fried chicken, pizza???? Also what type of drinks and chips would you be willing to buy? For more information on Battlefield of Dice visit our website at battlefieldofdice.com |

I think a nice salad bar and some Vegan choices would be good. Oh, wait, it's for Gamers. Ribs, Brats and beer, then. |

You might consider finding a local place that would semi-cater. A pizza place could bring in pizzas (and call the store for re-stocks), sell by the slice. Coolers of soda, chips, candy, and maybe pre-packed salads and sandwiches. Off them the space for free, they can hand out cards or coupons, and arrange a donation from them for the charity, or maybe they can give the GMs a free lunch as their donation. Pros are a lot better at this kind of stuff

Something that is quality and properly cooked. So many shows have overdone food, slightly off bread, chocolate that is melting etc. I would welcome a nice pasta salad or sushi though. |

Seafood. More seafood. Even if in the form of a fish sandwich. No cheese whiz on Nachos. Basically, more real food. |

I ran or have helped run 1 to 3 day local shows for 7 years now. We always serve food. Pizza is a money loser. Catering only works if one of you is associated with the caterer. Burgers, hot dogs, BBQ pork in a crock pot all are money makers and easy to do. Thanks, John |

Oh, fish sandwiches do sell well but are more involved. Salads and healthy foods don't sell well in our shows. John |

Salads and healthy foods don't sell well in our shows. Probably true about over here too, though I have never seen any offered

What a great idea. I'd attend if I was closer. Food? Check with the local shops (pizza, sandwiches, BBQ, etc
) and if you are a Tax Deductible con and offer them some free promotion, I bet some would jump on board quickly.

If you want to deal with the hassle, food is a money maker. You just have to be smart. Buy the product and have the folks to serve it. That's for a regular show. Doing a show for charity may be different since you may get local shops to donate. Wounded Warriors may bring those folks onboard since it's such a good cause. Thanks, John |

I'm thinking mostly "walkin' around" food. Stuff you can eat with one hand – Hot dogs, pizza slices, hoagies, etc., but I think it would be nice to at least have a few healthy options alongside for those of us who want to take care of ourselves. It doesn't have to be a lot because you know most gamers are going to opt for the quick junk food. But some, anyway. |

Hooters girls serving Hooters wings and beer. I'd pay extra and I bet if you talked to Hooters they'd throw in some money to the fund, too. |

John, I'll visit Hooters today. My wife surely can't object to me going to hooters since its for a good cause, right? |

Lobster Thermidor au Crevette with a Mornay sauce served in a Provencale manner with shallots and aubergines garnished with truffle pate, brandy and with a fried egg on top and SPAM. |

Hooters wings and Newcastle Brown Ale works for me, but a nice Chicago Italian beef with onions and peppers would be even better. |

While there have been very fine suggestions in the end we are being limited by what is being donated and the preparation facilities available to us at the American Legion hall. We are going to have have hotdogs and panini's as well as fruit and cookies. There'll will also be assorted chips. But since we are working strictly off of donations we are thankful for what we will be able to provide. Hopefully we'll see many of you there, after all we're supporting a worthy cause.
