It's hard to believe those are 15mm figs. The lacing and other details are exceptional.

I painted mine 30 years ago. I know I could do better now but have never done that. Yet. seeing these hmmmmm

paulalba03 Aug 2013 6:14 p.m. PST

Thanks very much for your kind comments, I got a lot of enjoyment out of painting these figures.

also I just noticed I received a 3rd stifle after posting these figures. I must have painted some details wrong? lol

nsolomon9904 Aug 2013 1:52 a.m. PST

Wonderful.

I wonder why the stifles – this is The Miniatures Page is it not? Or have I come in the wrong door?

Dogged04 Aug 2013 11:34 a.m. PST

Awesome!

'til I got to the pic whee you're handling one of the stands, I thought you had a mistake and they were 28 mm (then I read they were AB…).

Beautiful work!

Dogged04 Aug 2013 11:36 a.m. PST

Don't mind the stifles, there's people who just can't stand freedom of thought and expression, even less good painting…

Peeler04 Aug 2013 12:07 p.m. PST

Cracking paint job Paul, good to see. Ignore the stiffles :)

sukhoi04 Aug 2013 10:54 p.m. PST

Thanks John,
That's really kind of you!
Best
Paul

Greystreak09 Aug 2013 12:11 p.m. PST

They are superb, Paul--the 'definition' on the lace braiding is excellent: best I've seen on AB figures!

paulalba09 Aug 2013 2:36 p.m. PST

Wow Bryce that's really kind of you!

John Miller09 Aug 2013 3:35 p.m. PST

These are great. I just bought some AB miniatures but have not painted them yet. After seeing this I plan now to buy a few more.

I agree with Greystreak on the lace braiding, how did you do it??

paulalba10 Aug 2013 5:03 a.m. PST

Thanks John and Von Winterfeldt!

Von Winterfeldt I'm not sure, just a fine brush, steady hand and tidy up around about. To be honest I was thinking of using a mid grey to pick out the whole braid next time. Then highlight with white and catch the buttons with mithril silver. I'll Shawnee how that goes as I have a command base to try it on 1st.
Cheers
Paul
