If you're not doing it at 1:5 using 54mm figures, you're cheating, Sparker. ;^) |

Very nice initial concept Sparker, I like the way you have written it, and gone back to your schooldays, I love the 'Let's fight Leipzig!' articles myself. I have never played Black Powder yet – bought the rule set as I heard it was good, and I still like ITGM. Don't know enough about the availability of 28mm plastics to know whether there are enough figure types to make it feasible. Keep us posted on whether your plan comes to fruition. Once had a very good Campbelltown malt, shame that's as close as I'll get to your gaming club! |

Thanks chaps, most amusing. I'm a bit of Malt man myself, but have never had a Campelltown malt – a gap in my education! Regarding ITGM, yes, I'm sure theres a devoted fan base still out there, had some great games meself back in the day, but personally I can do without all the arithmetic! In terms of plastic figures, Foot wise the Prussians are adequately covered by Perry and Warlord, as are the Russians and Austrians, and both Perry and Victrix have extensive Austrian ranges. The problem comes with the Cavalry, with only French cavalry covered, so of course everyone has stacks of French Cavalry, when really they should be outnumbered by the Coaltion Horse! So I think my old Minifigs 25mm Russian Dragoon Regiments will have to the recalled to the Colours once again! |

Sparker mixing and matching Minifigs with the new 28mm won't be a problem. The plastic ranges keep growing as does their popularity. I recall my plastics as a boy and the French and British 1/72 scale box art helping to start my interest in the period. Type in Campbelltown Lough in the browser, it's obviously a place, but also a great song about drinking whisky which you could probably find on Youtube. They make good booze there. |

Hmmm, I'll keep an eye on your progress as I have a similar plan for our next club gaming weekend. |

Many, many years ago I recall an article in Wargamer's Digest of a Leipzig wargame that used a local gym floor for the battlefield. I think it must have used over 10k 25mm castings and took a weekend to fight to a draw. Good luck on your project. |

The title brings back lots of good memories of th MW article, which was fun to read and had some humorous moments such as all of the players rushing to put their Personality Figures into a town that PG declared off limits to artillery fire. |
