from the era. "A compilation of operational footage of the UH-1 Huey helicopter during the Vietnam War set to music from the era. Also includes authentic operational radio 'chatter' from the iconic helicopter. Dedicated to those who flew and died during the war." YouTube link Hope you enjoy!. Amicalement Armand |

That was great. I'd love to get a CD of the radio chatter to play low during my Vietnam games. |

Read an interesting article in an American mil. mag. (forget the name, might have been Military History) that made the point that Hollywood had it all wrong. What Hollywood has done is to use music that was popular 'stateside' rather than look at what the majority of those in Vietnam were listening to, mainly easy listening and country which was a reflection of the majority of men and women backgrounds. |

That is true, if you look at Platoon, you got the boozers listening to country while the dopers listeing to motown. |

When I was in Iraq, the ARVN radio loved to play the old Vietnam rock songs (and modern country music). I always felt my wars was slighted by not having its own sound. Hollywood will no doubt fix that ;-) |

When we (3rd ACR) crossed the berm in GW 1, I think every vehicle in the Regiment was blasting 'Rock the Casbah' by the Clash. Don't know universal it was elsewhere but it seemed appropriate at the time. |
