Who makes 28mm Landsknects? I am not looking for 25mm, please. It'd be nice to get some with real character and some dramatic poses as they were a colorful lot. Thanks for any leads! |

Be careful what you ask for: link Expensive, but amazing. Worth it, though. Follow the Brugelberg links. |

Artizan has a very nice range. |

Arent the Lead Adventure ones a bit unrealistic? (I know, hard to discern fantasy from reality when it comes to Lansknects!) |

Artizan and Empress carry a superb range from the continent, Tally Ho! |

Have a look at Pro Gloria too, really very good. progloria.com There's Foundry too, of course (the old models sculpted by the Perries – not the horrible new ones). I also have some Old Glory landsknechts. I think it's one of their better ranges and they mix well with Foundry and Pro Gloria (IMHO). |

Foundry, Pro Gloria, Artizan are the mainstay today. Old Glory works to a degree, but cut off those top hats – they are as ahistorical as they can get. Bruegelburg are fantastic, but on the comic style side. Redoubt has MANY poses and a lot of fine small dioramas, though their sculpting is a bit rough. For characters Brother Vinnie has a very fine line of Landsknechts, too, and you can grap some of Games Workshop or Gamezone for central pieces like Commanders, Musicians or Standard bearers – the OLD GW (made by the Perries) work best. The Perry plastics are fine for Knights, though not for Landsknechts – but many of their ROTW tross can be used. TAG has a couple that work for early Landsknechts but Stradiots, Gensdarmes and Spanish to fill any gaps in historical armies (Landsknechts in Italy often worked as part of an Imperial army that also contained Spaniards). Eureka has Gensdarmes that are probably the best sculpts atm, but alas these are a bit on the small side when compared to the others. There are many small lines and individual miniatures in larger (often fantasy) lines that can be used, too. Its a beast of a hobby, but nothing beats a Haufen of Landsknechts on the table (from looks, not rules). |

Quick reminder – looking for 28mm. I know that Old Glory and Foundry have them, but they are 25mm. Thanks! |

How are you measuring? The vast majority of my Landsknechts are Old Glory and the ate definitely 28mm. Same size as all of their other lines. |
Grandviewroad | 18 Jul 2013 8:00 a.m. PST |
well, all Old Glory are 25mm by today's standards. I'm looking for 28mm that means compatible with: Renegade, Games Workshop, Front Rank, West Wind, Bicorne, etc etc. I've buckets of Old Glory, and they are smaller than the above, however measured. The Pro Gloria look nice, are they the same size as Artizan? I'm going to run with Artizan's unit deals as they are perfectly sized. |

My friend had some Bicorne ECW, which were very nice, and they were quite large. Oddly, Bicorne bills themselves as a 25mm company on their site. Anyone seen the Bicorne Landsknechts? |
Condottiere | 18 Jul 2013 10:34 a.m. PST |
Pro Gloria are smaller than Artizan. I have Landsknechts from just about all ranges (except Brother Vinni and one or two others). Lead Adventure are cool, but very large and cartoonish
or very fantasy like. I like them a lot, especially for characters, but they do blend very well style-wise with the other. If you're looking for larger, go with Artizan. If you're looking for exquisite, go with Pro Gloria and Foundry. |

The Bicorne Landsknechts are from the Connoisseur range and are somewhat antiquated in sculpting style and they are definitely "true" 25mm. They are not nearly as large as the ECW range. Redoubt are also large like Artizan. Their landsknecht vignettes are very nice, but some if their "rank and file" leave a bit to be desired. |

Thanks for input. I ran with a regiment and some extras from Artizan (couldn't resist the looting Landsknechts!) As shipping is always 25%, there wasn't any reason to buy in bulk, but no matter, this will give me a chance to paint up a regiment and see how I like it. |

Tiger Miniatures! Some great figures in there. |

Artizan, Foundry, Old GW metals made by Perry's all blend nicely. I also have all Igor Karpov's Bruegelburg figures, as all these slashed sleeves will be one day assembled in GW Empire Army. I might also get Pro Gloria, as they look quite good, at least on pictures ;) Some old GW Mordheim figures (especially very rare Averland band) could be a nice addition, but they cost a fortune at the moment. |

I coulda sworn GW had them in print. I have a few of the old minis. I generally find Foundry to be 25mm, not 28mm, so I'm surprised that you link them with Artizan and old GW, which are definitely larger than my Foundry 25mm and Old Glory 25mm. Guess I'll see how big they are when I receive the Artizan! |

GW old models are not consistent, old bowmen link are huge indeed, while command groups link or artillery crews are ok very useful size comparison pics here: link but they don't have Bruegelburg. |

>As shipping is always 25% If shipping is an issue – Caliverbooks resells many lines and usually skips on shipping for miniatures. |
Grandviewroad | 19 Jul 2013 5:08 p.m. PST |
strange. Caliver not only offers free shipping on orders over 15 pds but their retail price is less than Artizan's own site. Guess I'll be buying there next time
