Thought I would finish this 1/200 scale P-40E as an Aleutian Cat. The resin mini is made by Armaments in Miniature, the decals (insignia & numbers) are from I-94 Enterprises and the white stripes are from Microscale. I used Vallejo Model Color paints. Two things inspired this livery. The first inspiration was that both of my grandfathers served in Alaska during WWII (one in the Aleutians the other in the interior). The second inspiration was the book, Thousand-Mile War: World War II in Alaska and the Aleutians, by Brian Garfield. I recommend the mini and the book.
