I am a 15mm Napoleonic/WW2 man but to 'buy in' support from my history loving family have previously made a Plains Indian diorama for my mother (published Plains Indian author) – now it's the turn of my new wife, who I met 10 years ago doing War Studies at KCL! Intent: a 10 man combat diorama, Early/Mid HYW, with the intent to depict the coats of arms of our families and a couple of key figures we 'admire', e.g. Sir William Marshall, Sir Thomas Hookton (yes, Cornwell's fictional character!). Help required as not my period: - figure manufacturers? Perry, Foundry, anyone else I should consider? - decals? Can paint most detail but always useful to have a hand! - any handy tips you can offer for modelling medieval vs other periods?! Thank you! |

Perry are always good, they have a good HYW range. Their War of the Roses plastics are very nice, but probably too late for this – and you only need a few figures anyway. Citadel Six have some decals for HYW shields and banners. |

You need to decide on which period you want as William Marshall is a lot earlier than the HYW? I would recommend looking at the excellent Claymore Castings range, Perry & Mirliton for starters. link |

Huscarle, thanks – aware WtM is a wee bit earlier
playing with dates on that front, but I like his Coat of Arms and the calibre of the guy whilst preferring the armour / decor of early/mid HYW. Purely aesthetics and fictional; very naughty. Very helpful figure suggestions – ditto Fred12df! Thanks all – good input; good suggestions for modelling / painting guides for the period? The usual Ospreys? |

The Agincourt Osprey was written by Matt Bennett and is well above the quality line – so yes :-) |
