Hi,

I'm going to be playtesting my Siege Warfare rules that cover 1680 – 1815, and the game will be Friday night at 7pm in the Exhibit Hall A.

This game will be the Siege of Praga (Warsaw) 4 November 1794, during the War of Polish Insurrection. This will be the first convention game where my Poles have hit the table. Should be really unusual and unique battle.

Background history: link
Russians won by storming the fortress.

We will be playtesting mining for the first time, so hopefully that won't be too cumbersome. Russians didn't use mines in this battle, but I want to test the mechanics.

I have extensively streamlined the rules in the last two weeks, which I hope to make for a fun outing.

Please see my blog on some of the mechanics:

Please drop by to watch or ask questions.
Cheers!
Eric Burgess
PS – Since it is a playtest I may not have all the terrain\miniatures completed to my normal standards, but it should still be great fun.

That sounds interesting, but rats, I'll only be there Saturday. Please post a followup.

Yes, I will post an AAR next week along with photos.

Hi William, the goal is to publish the rules. There seems to be a lot of interest in them.

Mike, please do stop by!

Are the rules suitable for the 1660-1670's period?

Beeker04 Oct 2014 5:39 a.m. PST

Is there any chance of acquiring these rules?

Many thanks!

Eric, it looks cool, but I have to ask why you're not using my Vauban fortress?

DinOfBattle210 Mar 2015 9:23 a.m. PST

Hi Scott,

I posted this message in 2013, before I purchased your fortress. I still have to assemble the fortress and my spare time has been very limited in the last 4 months.

Never fear! You awesome Vauban fortress will be assembled and used!

DinOfBattle210 Mar 2015 9:24 a.m. PST

Hi Henry,

The rules just went through their last playtest. I should be able to finish the rules this year and make them available to purchase.

Kingscarbine,

Yes, I think these rules would be suitable for the 1660-1670's period.

DRAT, I wish I had seen this. I love siege games-- unlike a lot of folks I don't find the concept of siege warfare dull at all!

I'll follow your blog as I have an interest!

Never seen a game quite like that before – that is utterly brilliant!

Cheers!

Thanks Walt and Snowcat!

Seems very interesting, siege warfare is under-represented in our hobby and it seems as though these could be fun.
