I am currently looking for a UK or US Bn size (w/all arms attachments) Assault Crossing scenario in NWE. Although a scenario is preferable, as it would provide a baseline for further research, I am not adverse to starting from scratch if someone has a historical crossing that I can reference in both primary and secondary sources.

If I am unable to find a suitable historical scenario, I will most likely tweak the scenario scale and use the Rapid Fire scenario 'Vernon' (Scenarios for NW Europe 1944/45… 2004), which can also be further researched by referencing the book 'Assault Crossing: The River Seine 1944' (Ken Ford… 1988).

Any assistance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend the crossing at Arnaville, as detailed in "Three Battles: Arrnaville, Altuzzo and Schmidt". Here's a link to the PDF at the US Army CMH:

Thank you G Dog.

I have downloaded and looked at the PDF, specifically the assault crossing at Arnaville, and it is extremely promising scenario fodder to the say the very least.

Thank you Kaos!

Thanks not only for the specific references you have provided today, but also your ongoing commitment to routinely sharing as many primary source WW2 PDFs on TMP.

I was going to suggest Vernon, I did my scenario based on the book. It isn't often you have the actual operations orders to give to the players.

I noticed that Ken Ford's excellent 'Assault Crossing' has recently been re-published, so it's a good time to buy it if you don't already have it.

Most welcome Centurion9046. I was thinking they were down to about the level you were looking for. Robert
