My supplier of gaming needs has stated that he will stop carrying GMB flags because he can not get refill on stock and no returned phone calls. Dose anyone have any idea what is up at GMB ????

I just received an order from GMB in the UK and it got here in just a few days. No problems what so ever. I often find it quicker to order from them in the UK than in the US. Since Redoubt stopped carrying them I only order from the UK. I didn't know anyone else was carrying them here. I will for now continue to order from GMB in the UK.

carojon07 Jul 2013 11:46 p.m. PST

No problems with GMB, Grahame produces great flags and offers a good customer service.

Brian Smaller08 Jul 2013 1:47 a.m. PST

Last week I had an order filled from the UK to New Zealand in under a week.

jacksarge08 Jul 2013 2:50 a.m. PST

I had an email recently from him explaining that my order was delayed because he had been on vacation- that may be why you haven't been able to contact him?

Luke Warm08 Jul 2013 2:59 a.m. PST

I have been waiting 10 days for my latest order in the UK – I'm prepared for a bit of leeway as I realise it's not Mr. Black full-time job & he may possibly have a life.

Hopefully they'll arrive before the end of the week (hint).

One of my gaming chums had a similar experience, he'd chased them up a few times & was at the the quite miffed stage when they suddenly showed up & I'd recommended he use GMB :-(

I know a number of companies/stores that have tried to stock GMB and they all complained of erratic supply and have eventually given up carrying them.

Which is a shame really because :
a) GMB are THE best flags around.
b) Mr. Black is a jolly nice chap.

Just order direct. Never had any problem.

VonBlucher08 Jul 2013 4:21 a.m. PST

Only order direct, and service has always been excellent

Except Triangle Miniatures (see immediately above) has just announced he will no longer carry GMB Flags for the same reason the original poster stated.

Order direct, Grahame is great to deal with.

Runicus Fasticus08 Jul 2013 12:31 p.m. PST

well here is my point about this post…1) I want to support the gaming industry overall….2) I want to support American dealers when ever I can. If my dealer buys from somewhere else that supports that company…and I in turn buy from my dealer and that supports him. 3) and most of all I do not truly trust the U.S. mail to deliver most packages and thick envelopes intact. My last order ..the box had been opened rifled through and then replaced. Nothing was missing except packing foam.

Order direct and they appear within days. It may hack off the folk who make a living by acting as intermediaries, the retailers, and I guess we must support them too.

Cut out the middle man.

OK, the flags are still too big for 28mm, but, with scale creep and another decade, they will be right. I use nothing else……..they are just too big…esp for cavalry……. but brilliant

Militia Pete09 Jul 2013 1:31 p.m. PST

Must of missed that email update.
Haven't order recently due to economic factors.
Shoot, at least I have time before I need some.

AuvergneWargamer10 Jul 2013 7:33 a.m. PST

Chaps,

I order direct and have had no problems even though I live in France.

In fact I'm going to order some more today if Wurttemberg standards are available!

Cheers,

Paul

Still nothing …….

GMB Designs12 Jul 2013 11:03 a.m. PST

Have you emailed me Mr Warm ?

Re 'a number of companies/stores that have tried to stock GMB and they all complained of erratic supply and have eventually given up carrying them.'

I've heard this before, I'd like to know who they are ?
I only ( will only ) supply the nice Andrew Barrett at Bicorne – he has stock of my ECW range. No one else in the UK for at least seven years.

Prior to that my experience of UK stockists has been disappointing to say the least. One I refused to restock until paid for previously sold stock ( still haven't been paid ) and another I surprised by arriving at a convention to repossess my show stand… I can live without that kind of stress.

Do please have a look at the website

gmbdesigns.com

Because I create, produce and package and ship the flags myself – I have access to every single item on my lists. Order turnaround is usually fairly swift – though illness and vacations do throw a spanner in the works.

b) Mr. Black is a jolly nice chap.

Thanks, I really am… or try to be.

Well there you go. Great response from the best in the business!

patrick76613 Jul 2013 6:52 a.m. PST

Do you produce 15mm wurttemberg and Bavarian Napoleonic flags? Thank you,
Patrick

GMB Designs13 Jul 2013 11:37 a.m. PST

Patrick

I have them in 28mm and temporarily withdrew them from the 15mm list. I've been updating a lot of the artwork and want to replace the old codes.

If you email me your requirements I'll prioritise them.

Let me add to I see Lead People, in his comments about a great response. Great quality stuff and I have never had the slightest problem with going direct to the main man!

Updating artwork? Intrigued……..couldn't just reduce the size of the French Napoleonic Cavalry standards could you? I'll happily replace the lot with you, hang the cost compared with the hours of work gone into the lad carrying each flag

patrick76614 Jul 2013 7:10 a.m. PST

Thank you, Graham, I will do that.

Thanks ferg981 :))

Luke Warm23 Jul 2013 6:32 a.m. PST

They arrived!

Mr.Black sorted everything out once he'd realised something was amiss.

As usual I'm extremely happy with my flags – as others have previously stated they are the best. The growing number of competitors simply don't quite have the same quality about them as GMB ones.

I'm sorry that you had trouble with vendors and they are probably the same ones who I'd spoken to. Still at least you have Mr.Barrett at Bicorne who is indeed like yourself an awfully nice straightforward chap.

I've had a great reply from Mr B about my daring to suggest that his French flags, however brilliant, might just be little on the large side. Let's just say it is a scale thing and one man's 28mm figure is not another's. He even offered to downsize for me, for complete accuracy, but no, he has me convinced. I hope he will respond further here, because it is well worth reading in far more detail!

von Winterfeldt25 Jul 2013 4:54 a.m. PST

wow great downsizing, I will come to that when I need some colours.

Funicus Fasticus
perhaps there was an issue between your local supplier and GMB ? Not an uncommon in most industries (I'm having problems obta\ining my favourite cheese from my local supermarket because they won't pay the price for it).
Grahame at GMB always provides excellent service (as well as best flags – NOT I'm not related in family or business)and great to deal with. Hope resolved now – best flags this side of the pond, at least
