Help on colors needed. I have the Peter Pig 15mm Egyptians. I know most of the colors except for. What color would be good to use for a flesh tone? I use vallejo paints. Also, I am unsure what color to use for the bread bag or satchel they have? Thanks |

For Egyptian flesh tones I use Cel Vinyl's Wood grey 10 mixed with Delta Ceram coat's medium flesh at about a 50:50 ratio. |

For flesh use a buff leather colour and highlight with a darker normal flesh tone. Works for me. As for the haversack I have it cited in the book " The War In The Sudan" by Stuart Asquith quotes as follows: From 1884 when on campaign, close fitting jerseys were worn, brown (or very dark khaki) for Egyptian troops, dark blue for the Sudanese. Sand coloured trousers with dark blue puttees, brown leather equipment, and a white haversack completed the kit. Now paraphrasing but up until 1884 the summer dress of white cotton was still used. After that it is as above. Rhys |

OP says he uses Vallejo. First post has nothing to do with Vallejo.you gotta love TMP. |

Ah, but he didn't capitalise "Vallejo', so it wasn't obvious. My own response to this sort of enquiry is usually something like, "Egyptians are all over the news today. Look at them! Select that colour from your paints!" But I'm old and grumpy and have been mixing paints since Humbrol first put out their little tins. |

Here is Vallejo capitalized. So it looks look some sort of leather color will be suitable for Egyptian skin tone. Thanks for all the info! |
