I am looking at the Pathfinder Skull and Shackles adventure path.
Has anybody played it yet? Is it any good? Thanks! |

It's interesting. You have to have characters willing to buy into wanting to become swashbuckling pirates; it's not designed as an adventure where a party can become embroiled with pirates and then move on. |

I must say, as much as like the old Pirate movies with Errol Flynn, Tyrone Power and the like, (or the newer lot) I had a hard time believing in pirates as sympathetic player characters. (Same with Vikings, Mobsters, Huns, Wasteland scavengers etc
.). The basic premise (Rape loot pillage and burn) is abhorrent to me – at least for an RPG. Minis games are a different matter, since you're not so much "in character". I'm too much on the side of Law & Order, I think. |
