I am looking at the Pathfinder Skull and Shackles adventure path.

Has anybody played it yet?
Is it any good?

It's interesting.

You have to have characters willing to buy into wanting to become swashbuckling pirates; it's not designed as an adventure where a party can become embroiled with pirates and then move on.

I must say, as much as like the old Pirate movies with Errol Flynn, Tyrone Power and the like, (or the newer lot) I had a hard time believing in pirates as sympathetic player characters. (Same with Vikings, Mobsters, Huns, Wasteland scavengers etc….). The basic premise (Rape loot pillage and burn) is abhorrent to me – at least for an RPG. Minis games are a different matter, since you're not so much "in character".

I'm too much on the side of Law & Order, I think.

I'm looking forward to the new 'Terrorists of Penzance' RPG…
