I would love to produce it! Unfortunately I have no previous Shapeway experience. Also I am working hard now on portfolio to be enrolled on Bachelor of 3d Graphics and Animation course, so my time is a bit limited now.

But I really want to find the best way (both in price, material and details) to share this and future models with you. I realy hope if I made lots of these vehicles and they will be good and also wargamers will want them, some manufacturer will produce them in plastic/resin/metal :)

I was tired to wait when someone will make some weird early XX century tanks, so I decided if most of recent vehicle releases was made in 3D and then converted in plastic/metal/resin, to make tank I want by myself. Thankfully I know how to use modern 3D software.

Because these beauties are deserved to be made!!! :)

By the way, here is untextured Mendeleev tank I made for Blitzkrieg mod many years ago. Mod was lost in a PC crash :(

I had a plan to make Mendeleev tank, but I can make other tank in 3D if you want :)

My forays into 15mm VSF have focused on naval and aerial projects, not that I've finished any yet, but these are definitely fun!

I was tired to wait when someone will make some weird early XX century tanks…

Obviously, you are hardly alone, and most of us are without 3D experience. My attempts do show a definite lack of aptitude.

However, there are plenty of folk who do play on Shapeways, or work in their own businesses. Perhaps someone will step up and give you pointers.

I will mention a Yahoo! group, though it's hardly that active.

Very nice work

Good work on Little Willie! Expanding beyond tanks a bit, how about an armoured car?

Er… well, we at Minairons Miniatures have just started working on this one below

Cunningham's M-1

Cunningham's M-1

At such an early stage, it was supposed to be highly confidential --but couldn't resist the temptation…

TheRatGod04 Jul 2013 10:01 a.m. PST

put the 3d files up here and we can upload them to shapeways and print em ourselves.

Guthroth04 Jul 2013 10:36 a.m. PST

That would be an outstanding gesture. I'd happily pay a fee to get some of those Willies to use as APC's

Richard D04 Jul 2013 10:57 a.m. PST

TSofian contacted me and suggested I recruit you. I am starting up a miniature company that will be using 3D printer technology to produce miniatures for his game Hive Queen and Country. I hope to add a WWI line. If you have any designs I would be interested in producing them. Contact me of list at richard.delorme@frontier.com

The Monstrous Jake04 Jul 2013 11:15 a.m. PST

Those do look very nice.

I don't think I've seen most of those types available in any scale, as static display models or as wargaming miniatures.

This group will have a lot of ideas and also be receptive to a lot of them. Beware it is an extremely active group!

At last! More Interwar in 15mm! Wish you the best luck, because your Panzer I model was great!

2 The Monstrous Jake
Thats the reason I am making them! I was tired to wait until someone will make them. And if someone WILL make them, its more likely they will be in 1/72 or 28mm scale first and only then in 15mm…

Writing email right now!

Guthroth05 Jul 2013 5:42 a.m. PST

SirFjodin, please PLEASE keep us updated if the Willie or any of the others make it onto Shapeways or into someone elses production line in 15mm.

They would make fantastic additions to the limited ranges of VSF/Pulp vehicles currently available.

Can I make another suggestion, have you considered a tie up with an existing model maker and Kickstarter ?

Just looking at the response here, I think you could guarantee a positive outcome.

Well, if I'm not wrong @Richard D has already acknowledged us to be starting up a company of his own, and he has also suggested the thread starter to get in contact with him. This might be a good beginning in the sense you were expecting, wouldn't it?

As for me, who could be considered as an established firm owner (as long as a one-year-old make can be considered as ultimately established evil grin), I'm obviously open to discussing almost anything --although not sharing nationality or native language could hamper a bit it all…

Best wishes,
Lluís

Dont worry, I will inform you about ANY progress :) I wrote an email to Richard D, so I hope the Willie and some other Early XX century tanks that I am modeling right now will be produced.

2 Lluis of Minairons
Looking forward about any of your new 15mm releases. For now they were excellent!

T1 Cunningam 60% finished. Please note that's this is very small vehicle – only 3,8cm long, so I made rivets and hatches a bit bigger. Rivets are 1/3 of mm, the same size as on Zvezda's Panzer 38(t). Little Willie is 5,8cm long, similar to Plastic Soldier Company SdKfz 251.

After finishing early T1 Cunningham version, I will be making T1E1 and E2 variant with more detailed hull, different turret and bigger gun.. This is how later version of T1 looks in World of Tanks.
