Number 2 son bought me some Russians so I will be buying the Russian Uniform spray that PSC is advertising, but I do not see a pot of paint to go with it – is there a direct match (I always mess up and need to re-touch).

Army Painter does this, matching pots to sprays, and I have found those good, so any ideas on these new ones please

I wondered this too.
Would be interesting to hear from anyone that has got the actual sprays yet?

Why buy the PSC paint over the Flames of War where one is looking for the same color? It looks like the price for the FOW paint is less (in the US) and the can size is the same – both 400 ml

Hahahahahahaha Steve funniest thing I have head in 2 years…..which in incidently when the last FOW can of spray paint was sold

Stece – happy to go either way, but the PSC version is new and shiny so made me ask.

Anyone?

PSC has colors that are of use for basecoating infantry and the FOW stuff is mostly armor from what I can tell.

Seems silly of the Warstore to list half of the line as being in stock but refuse to sell it because they are in the US, but Truscott Trotter said so so it must be true.

Marc the plastics fan03 Jul 2013 8:45 a.m. PST

Steve, from what I can see PSC are selling a range for both tanks and infantry.

But I also know that selling spray cans over the post is fraught with mail order difficulties, so maybe that is an issue around what is sold, and where.

No issues with FoW by the way, but just curious for teh new range and its matches, rather than alternatives at this stage. Thanks

ubercommando03 Jul 2013 3:24 p.m. PST

…if anyone can get the FoW sprays other than British Mediterranean armour.

Steve – there are many posts on this and other forums regarding the lack of supply of BF Warpaint sprays
Production stopped a while back apparently due to widespread quality control issues. BF have remained unusually silent on the issue for over 12 months but many dissapointed customers have reported leaking cans. FWIW I have had even more problems with Armypainter sprays so I look with interest and some slight trepidation at the new PSC range and will await the customers revewis before spending any $

Thanks Truscott – I had not hard that. My experience with BF has been okay and share your issues with Army Painter branded sprays.

Hope the PSC ones turn out well, it is completely silly to drop out paint from a vallejo bottle to cover 20 or so tanks.

Wow – did not realise the Army Painter sprays were no good – I have used the blue and grey for, guess, ACW – 400 figures done and no spray problems. Oh, and the dip and the matt spray worked really well for me too – UK based, so can only spray for one or two days a year in between winter and rain grin

But I have other colours so what are people's concerns with the AP spray cans that I need to watch out for.

(Stolen Name)05 Jul 2013 10:29 p.m. PST

Not saying AP are not any good just that I and a few others have had problems. Short answer:
1.) Most cans seem to have 10-20% left in but run out of porpellant do do not get to use full can
2.) Wolf grey came out gloss blue/grey
3.) Most cans start to leak out the top bubble etc
4.) Brown spray is powdery and dries too fast ie mid air
Have been told to spray from 2-3" instead of the reccmended 8-10"

Only problem I've had with army painter cans is the one I had catastrophically leak on me in the garage covering myself and thirty grands worth of motorcycles desert sand coloured paint (that that I'm still trying to clean off).

But, in all fairness, that could probably have happened with anyone's paint.

Ok, thread zombie alert, but has anyone in the UK now used the PSC sprays and matched to pots of paints please?

1815Guy06 Feb 2014 5:45 p.m. PST

Hmmmmmmm not really. I spray Psc – which is a lovely spray quality Btw compared to Halfords or esp Plasticote – but then use a wash for the creases and then a highlighting complementary colour from Vallejo on the top surfaces. Any overspray with the base coat is taken care of by hiding it under the other layers!!!!.

von pumpernickel07 Feb 2014 4:32 a.m. PST

I've used the two brit colours cans …..

Both were markedly better over a Halfords grey primer undercoat. Gave a nice finish and look ok to me …. so much so I had to go and get a second can for my armour as the lead pile increased (ok ….. it was plastics but same thing really ;) )

Tzen6707 Feb 2014 1:06 p.m. PST

As I understand it PSC is planning to release pots to match their spray cans.

Beaumap08 Feb 2014 10:57 a.m. PST

What's wrong with me? I have not had a single problem with either Battlefront or Army Painter cans! I have been churning out armies following an illness and have got through at least a dozen of the former (because they are indeed hard to find), and three times as many as many of the latter. My Halfords primer usage must be into the hundreds without a dud. Only Humbrol have ever been less that excellent. I got dark red in a dark brown can once!

Maybe its to do with paints sent a long distance? I'm being serious by the way. Otherwise, I just have to conclude that lots of people are incapable of using sprays.

So to go one step further – are there any guides, photos, blogs etc that show these PSC colours in use please? I would like to see what colour they come out like, how suitable for dipping etc they are – but the PSC webpage is strangely light on galleries etc.

Thanks

Zombie zoo

Anybody selling in the UK or just go direct to PSC?

Gravett Islander06 Jun 2015 2:30 p.m. PST

Marc, I bought mine (British armour) from Marquee Models in Harlow, Essex. Used it last night on my PSC cromwells. Looking good so far…..

Marc at work08 Jun 2015 5:20 a.m. PST
