It is about 80 and muggy here in NC. (Unseasonal rains and flooding are holding temperatures down.)

My daughters were camping in Palo Duro Canyon (TX) two days ago and experienced temperatures over 100 degrees. They are still complaining.

jdpintex02 Jul 2013 10:05 a.m. PST

ancientsgamer02 Jul 2013 10:10 a.m. PST

86 F now and will climb to 90 later today. We are WAY south of you here in San Antonio. Like I have been saying, the mid-West gets the worst of heat and cold. The temperature swings up your way are easily 120 degrees from cold to hot. We only get a couple of week of mid 20s weather in the winter. We do have hotter summers, but not by much. Oh, we will be up to 100 degree days by end of this month barring rain. We have actually had a wet year so far. Hopefully this translates into cheaper beef soon ;-)

Garand02 Jul 2013 10:16 a.m. PST

Looks like it is 80F here in east/central Pennsylvania. May hit 82F later today according to the forecast, about where it should be for summer.

Mako1102 Jul 2013 5:25 p.m. PST

Forecast is/was for 111, but the local weather people usually low-ball it, to try to help keep up morale.

Suffice it to say it's too hot for even basking lizards to enjoy it…….

T Meier02 Jul 2013 5:48 p.m. PST

79 degrees F. that's 26 C. in southern Ohio, about nine degrees below the average for this time of year. With the exception of a couple weeks it has consistently been well below normal since April, also much wetter. I have had a half acre garden for the last ten years and so far this has by far been the coolest year in that time. The regular rain has been fantastic for the crops, I can barely walk for the corn, tomatoes and squash crowding the paths.
