My next unit up to paint are Sikh War Ghurkas. There were 2 different regiments that fought. I know they wore dark green and I believe with black lace and piping. Gray or green pants? Not sure about red facing colors.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated…

Don't know if this helps much but I have a copy of Wargames Illustrated from years ago showing the rank and file in dark green faced black and an officer in off white trousers.

Officers could and did dress as they chose so don't know if that was standard.

The Miniature Wargames 4 part Sikh Wars article shows a uniform plate in #3(#158) for the Nasiri Local Battalion. Green tunic and pants, black leather, black facings. Probably a white cap cover. Sirmoor Battalion listed as green/green, green band for facing, possible black and red band on the kilmarnock. Unknown whether they were true rifle battalions at this time.

The Nusiri Rifles all carried 2-groove rifles by December 1845, while the Sirmoor Rifles had a rifle company (this was somewhat common for BNI light, and some non-light, infantry)with the rest carrying flintlock fusils to June 1846. All 2-groove rifles were withdrawn in January 1846 and they were replaced in the Nusiri Rifles with percussion fusils through end of First Sikh war.

Just a teaser from Andrew Preziosi & Patrick Wilson's forthcoming book.

Thanks guys
The Wargames Foundry figures are wearing shakos. Any ideas on that…

I believe the Sikh army had Gurkha units, too!

I believe they did also Spontoon…

The Foundry victoriana catalog lists those as Sikh ghurkhas, SK161-167. I don't see any Brit allied gurkhas in that line. No idea about the shako.
