I'm looking for a fantasy skirmish rule set to use with the Reaper Bones figures. SBH has been recommended. Can it handle all the bit monsters which came in the Reaper Kickstarter? I'd like to seem multiple giants/dragons/demons on the board at the same time along with various human sized heros. |

Yup. The way SBH measures is from the front of the base, and you lay ghe miniature down touching the back of the base. It gives bigger creatures a movement bonus in this way

Ran the Cid, we are working on an official BONES free supplement with Reaper's permission. It should be ready (as a free PDF living rulebook) at the end of next week, check out the free downloads pages on ganeshagames.net (It contains stats for the figures and new rules where needed, you still need a copy of SBH and, in some cases, some of its supplements, to play). |

Classic SONG plays best with no more than a dozen models per warband, though I believe more recent versions allows for larger armies. The standard points are 300-500 per side, but if both sides include several high-powered and expensive large monsters, I think you could play just fine with 1000 points or so. I think the humans would also need to be pumped up a bit -- all heroic, maybe -- which makes sense if they are facing giants and dragons and demons. |

SBH can handle large dragons and monsters and has plenty of built in variety for all of the bones creatures. A fan has made stats for all of the bones and an official book for them is in the works too. The combat system runs a bit different at high levels because it takes a succession of hits to kill high combat creatures. Still, the system works quite well and is fun to play. |

SBH will handle any figure from the reaper KS. SBH will handle a couple of major baddies at a time. You could easily have a dragon, giant and a demon on one side, but not a whole lot more. Our club's standard game is now 500 (300 is the rules recommendation). This 9 figure force is a 500 point army of solid, above-average, characters. with a fairly powerful chaos Champion and Ogre.
However the game-as-written really tops out at about 6-700 points at the most, which is still usually less than 20 minis per side unless you're fielding goblins, koblods or some other very weak infantry. To go beyond that, you really need to make a few minor modifications. Here's what we did: link |

Thanks for the feedback. I'll need to get myself a copy of SBH. @Ganesha – I'll keep an eye open for the Bones PDF |

I published only a preview so far as I am adding a few profiles at a time. I am rushing to publish two new games in time for a big convention here in Italy so I've been focusing on that. I suppose the Bones pdf could be completed near the end of August. |
