The Erbprinz Karl Friedrich von Hesse Seewald is being sent to an undisclosed nation for further training in the art of military science. The Erbprinz will participate in campaigns of said nation initially as an observer, but also as a participant after further training.

The figures are all from the Fife & Drum Miniatures range of AWI figures, except for the Erbprinz (on the round base), who is a Minden British officer. There is also one RSM Prussian officer (pointing) on foot, but the rest of the figures are either American Militia painted in green coats and red facings, or regular Continental infantry castings.

This goes to show Fife & Drum figures are suitable for a number of different purposes, both real and imagined.

I painted the figures for a friend as a gift so that I could have my personality figure participate in his campaign. After painting the Erbprinz, I decided that it would be fitting to send him off with his own bodyguard of jagers, so I also painted 28 more figures as part of the gift to my friend.

I really enjoyed the freedom to paint the uniform in any manner that I see fit. I like them so much that I will probably start painting my own Hesse Seewald Imagination army.

Any flag information?
grin

I have read that Hesse Seewald Jaegers DID carry flags into the field. Please confirm this.

These are just two companies that have been detached from the parent regiment for special duty. Hence no flag for them (also, light infantry don't carry flags in The Wargame rules).

Great news! *thumb up*

My understanding is that you're referring here to the armed forces of 'Alt Hess Seewald', by contrast with (Gross) Hesse Seewald, a name initially used for 'alternate' Prussia?

Then maybe one day Hesse Seewald will try to field a war balloon? Rumors are circulating for years about this project…

About rumors, what about Milady de Winter (no encounter with Lady Pettygree planned this year?)? The hints (in the archives of the 'War of the Saxon Duchies' kept in the OSW Yahoo group files) that the ruler of Hesse Seewald keeps her secret son as hostage to blackmail her into his service were… intriguing at the very least.

There could be some rather startling news about Lady de Winter coming soon.

The alternate Prussia is called Germania and is ruled by King Friedrich II.

Hesse Seewald is my imagination country/army ruled by King George

She's not really a "lady"?

Not if there are rumours circulating about her.

It is more in the area of who she is related to.

That's the beauty of imaginations troops: you can dress them anyway you want and nobody can tell you that they are wrong.

BTW, THE Erbprinz and his escort will be fighting in the service of Charles S. Grant's VFS army henceforth. I look forward to seeing how they perform in future adventures against the Grand Duchy of Lorraine.

They look very good!
