I am writing a scenario for Black Powder 2nd Manassas with the above mentioned Generals. I gave Brigadier-General John Bell Hood of the Texas Brigade a Staff Rating of 9 and the qualities of High Aggression, High Decisiveness and Medium Independence. Rationale: Gen. Hood had a reputation for bravery and aggressiveness that sometimes bordered on recklessness and was an excellent brigade and division commander. In contrast, I gave Colonel Gouverneur K. Warren a Staff Rating of 8, and the qualities of Medium Aggression, High Decisiveness, High Independence. Rationale: Col. Warren had an Engineering background and was very cautious and deliberate, but acted independently when he saw something that needed to be done without awaiting confirmation or orders from above. What do you think? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Jorge

Characteristics sound about right although I'm not a fan of BP and, thus, are not familiar with its rating system. Note that neither did that well as Corps commanders. |
