We have a new arrival. His member name is Balrogjdk. Please be gentle. He really is a good guy. Even if he has beaten me on the game table shamelessly on a few occasions…
He's a talented miniatures painter. An excellent, if vicious, gamer. And an all round good guy.
Welcome, Balrogjdk. New guys buy the first round. I'll have an Atlanta Holy Water, please.

I welcome this Balrogjdk. Good to have have you. TMP is the best place to ask questions.

even my stupid questions get great answers. other than when OFM said to "throw some mud on it" when I needed help fixing a messed up KV-2 paint job.

welcome: So Say We All

JBalrogjdk@ Just a helpful warning, don't get upset and wondering what have you done to the gaming Gods when, not if you get your first stifle. Most likely you haven't done anything wrong, it comes with the territory.

14Bore21 Jun 2013 11:49 a.m. PST

Sorry I just looked, you have one already.

Mud sounds a good way of hiding paint defects – works for me. Not so good for ships though.

GarrisonMiniatures21 Jun 2013 12:42 p.m. PST

Oh, and welcome.

CraigH21 Jun 2013 12:42 p.m. PST

To prepare yourself for the future, you may want to decide where you stand now on:

Flames Of War – accurate yet still playable simulation or those wheel to wheel tanks look ridiculous

GW – Well oiled machine or a company that will clearly be out of business in six months

Napoleonics – doesn't matter as you are clearly wrong whatever you think

I'm sure there are others…

Balrogjdk21 Jun 2013 1:39 p.m. PST

Thanks all.
Flames of War played it a couple of times won't be doing it again.

GW nice stuff, great business model for them but, expensive for the consumer and I have such a god awful pile of stuff now I have little incentive to feed them so, I don't

Napoleonic was burned out of me decades ago by a guy that never codified his rules so he could always change them to ameliorate his lousy troop pushing skills. I sold my 25mm army when they had switched to 15mm while I was at college.

Mud does hide a lot but I don't have much I want hidden so not much use.

Thanks for the welcomes; if anyone is ever near Greenville SC on a Saturday hunt down Borderlands Comics and Games. I'm there almost every Saturday playing something; currently it's micro armor using a bastardized version of the old Yaquinto Panzer Armor 88 series. Not to shamelessly plug the place but they have a huge selection of GW and flames stuff and large amount of gaming space.

Rrobbyrobot21 Jun 2013 2:59 p.m. PST

And that's a fact. Lots of fun on Saturdays at Borderlands.

Balrogjdk, getting your first day stifle isn't the first time that happened. But 4 might be, come on guys give him a break.

wrgmr121 Jun 2013 5:33 p.m. PST

Welcome Balrogjdk! TMP is a great place to connect find out details of uniforms and new rule sets.

Bashytubits21 Jun 2013 6:20 p.m. PST

Welcome, I would have suggested REALLY BIG slogans painted on it since it is Russian.

Balrogjdk21 Jun 2013 8:48 p.m. PST

4 stifles without posting anything? Oh well no point crying over those that don't want to talk or listen.

Tango01 Supporting Member of TMP21 Jun 2013 10:27 p.m. PST

Do not take the stifles in any serious consideration my friend.
They became a batch of honor.

Is Greenville in the South of SC? I fly to Savannah, Georgia, quite often, with work.

Balrogjdk23 Jun 2013 2:49 p.m. PST

Greenville is in the Northwest corner of the state about 2 1/2 hours north of Atlanta along I-85.

Welcome to the House of Fun.

Are you related to the Knox's who trace their ancestors back to the John Knox of Scotland, and who fought during the AWI? Just that they are North and South Carolina families of some interest to me – Battle of Ramsour's Mill, 1780, etc.

A big WOW howdy, if you are.
