During a visit to my local book shop I noticed the following….A book about the battle of Bosworth with a picture of a knight on the cover, from the late 12th. century! A book about "young peoples lives during the second world war" the cover featured a photograph of an Hungarian female fighter during the post war uprising. An illustrated history of the second world war, the cover showing a U.S. tank from the post war era.Lastly a book about the Falklands, the cover showing a "colourised" black and white photograph of two Royal Marines, their berets tinted para.maroon…the two units being equally insulted!
The authors have obviously no input whatsoever, some young media type who hasn't read the content and has no knowledge of the subject has.

Check this out. Someone doesn't understand how metal cased cartridges work:

I personally will not buy a book about some historical event or person if the cover photo depicts the actors who portrayed the subject in a movie based on the book.

Nor apparently do they understand how feet and bullets work

The alternative cover option had the spent casing being ejected from the revolver.

My local W.H.Smiths has a cd and book package on sale to commemorate the Great War, unfortunately the cover picture is of an American soldier wearing a Brodie helmet and toting a Garand! Yet another example of some overpaid media type with no knowledge of the subject.

A good gaming friend of mine once had his girlfriend show him a cover of a magazine with a British modern light AFV on it. She said "There's one of those tanky things you like, go ahead and tell me what its' name is".

He took one look and said "Of course, it's a Ferret".

She laughed, and said: "Nope! Wrong, it's a Saladin. Says so right here". (Of course, the picture was mislabeled).

He got quite upset and told her the caption was wrong, and he darn well knew his armored vehicles better than the editors of whatever magazine it was. She refused to believe him, and told him for all the time he spent painting up little tanks, he apparently didn't know his vehicles as well as he thought he did.

Their relationship didn't last much longer.
