I have been working on a set of rules for the MAW. I am looking for any comments on the classifications of troops.
After reviewing other rulesets & some accounts of the campaigns I have come up with these ratings for Mexican Troops.
As a comparison US Regular Infantry is rated as Veteran Melee Class B Fire class B. US volunteers are mostly Seasoned Fire class B Melee Class B, Poorly trained.
Possible morale (& melee) ratings are: Guard, Grenadier, Veteran, Seasoned, Green. Each unit has a melee & fire modifier so they can be A, B, or C class for each.
Troops can have Advanced Drill or be Poorly drilled, both affecting maneuver.
