It's too late to drop in a News item for this, so I am positing directly. Tomorrow (Thursday) on Lard Island News we will be playing Chain of Command and posting out game reports as we move throughout the day so you'll be able to see the action phase by phase, turn by turn. We will be letting you know what is happening, posting photos and also be available to answer any questions people ask about the game.

Our plan is to start at about 1000 BST which is GMT+1 and run through to about 15.30 or when the game ends. Obviously we'll be involved with all sorts of image editing and resizing and entering text so the game will probably run quite slowly so you can drop in throughout the day and catch up on the action.

You can find Lard Island News here: toofatlardies.co.uk/blog

We've never tried this before, so its going to be death or glory stuff. Hope to see some fellow TMPers there tomorrow.

this sounds very innovative. can you give us a pre-game briefing about the forces involved?

Live action gaming! Will there be cheer leaders?

I'm with Last Hussar; I demand an end to playtesting, I want these now! I'll give you $20 USD, condition 'as is.' :)

I've just caught up on all the posts – couldn't watch it live, due to the inconvenience called work :-(

Learn't several more subtleties of the rules – they still look really good.

I wondering if they will work just as well with my multi based 10mm – as most squads seem to stay fairly close to each other.

Fred, add some single-based troops to make it clearer where troops are stading and it should not be a problem. One of the playtesters used 10mm troops.

I'm going to use individually based 10mm myself, and see if I can get the board down to 2 x 2 or 3 x 3 so I can sit down (my back is killing me!). Anyone that's played suppose this will work (maybe a conversion inches to centimeters?)?

I'd go for the cm version as well – we did with BP.

In fact even though I have 10mm on 30 mm square bases, I am considering getting 40ish per side to individually base, for this reason, even though I do have 20's. Make vehicles cheaper, as I can use them with both lots.

I'm basing the men on pennies; all the rest of my 10mm is multi-based, but, like you said, now I get to use all the same vehicles, terrain, etc…

I'm sure I could add in a few single based figures – its more a question of time to get stuff painted. And as I have vast quantities of multi-based 10s who rarely get a game it would be nice to get them on the table easily.

But a bag or two more infantry should not take too long to get painted up – especially as the rules are a couple of months off.
