Until my Darkest Africa stuff comes in, I have a bunch of assorted US infantry types I'm painting up (15mm) Mostly Fantassin SAW figures, and lots of QRF. Doing Blue jackets, some khaki clad, kinda a mix, so I can go from SAW, Boxer Rebellion, Caribbean, and also use them in Africa. Do y'all favor particular units, styles, or periods? |

I like Boxer Rebellion and the Philippines. |

Boxer Rebellion is one of the best camapigns for a multi-player event. Each player can be a European/Japanese army plus a rival Chinese Warlord or Imperial player. |

My American units are designed for the Boxer Rebellion |

I don't have any US units but if I did they would be bluejackets – Boxer Rebellion is great – that's what my Brits and French are made up for (the Japanese too – no surprise there!) |

I use the Blueshirts for Philipp1nes versus Moros. I think Doc Ord wrote TSATF variant for that period. |

I have US Marines for the Boxer Rebellion and whatever imaginary campaigns I make up. I have several US Army units for the Spanish American War and fighting in the Philippines, as well. For these, I went with state units where I have a connection with the state: Kansas infantry and Utah light artillery. Grelber |

Yes Ed, I tried 'em out (used QRF SAW figs). Great variant. Especially liked the fanatics rule, they really make it fun. My US units for Africa are 10 men, a lt, sgt and bugler. For some reason, they have great stats, hit on 13-20, always get +1 and win ties in combat, and never have to roll for charge completion or morale. Wanted to make it realistic, so modified the stats compared to British and other units (ducks and runs :) ) Tough unit, those Yankees are. :)
