Not to be facetious, but at 1:100, wouldn't a length of wire inserted in the hand of any figure do?

Jeff beat me too it. If not wire, then a piece of small diameter styrene rod would work as well.

BF has a few in the Assault Company box and Boat Section blisters.

If you're scratchbuilding, I'd suggest the plastic rod. Easier to cut, and more tolerant of minor flexing.

Several pieces of rod or wire, since they screwed them together once they got to the target.
