Very nice.

What system?

A long way behind Omaha if they're using Cromwells! That little quibble aside, very nice work.

Skarper17 Jun 2013 10:08 p.m. PST

Nice set up and beuatiful models.

But the title is totally wrong. Cromwells and British infantry are a dead give away – not to mention Panthers would have been rare behind OMAHA in the early days of the invasion.

I wonder why they got the title so out of whack when everything else is very accurate? Odd.

Armand won't know. He just posted the links.

"Behind Omaha" is the name of a set of rules in German language dealing with the Normandy campaign. The fotos are from a demonstation game held at the Hamburg Tactica in February (and online since several months).

Very nicely done – those Jerries can teach us a thing or two about putting on beautifully presented demo games.

Thanks for the posting Armand – I did enjoy!

Pedantry aside, that's a beautiful table!

Skarper18 Jun 2013 9:23 a.m. PST

OK – that figures.

PHGamer18 Jun 2013 9:25 a.m. PST

Unbelievably (and I hate to use the word) awesome!

Great looking. However, I live in Omaha and do not recognize this neighborhood!

Tricorne try turning around, the title clearly states it's behind you, to quote every panto audience ever. ;-P

Thanks for that, Gianpippo. Makes sense! Quibble withdrawn

Tried to download these but they wouldn't open. I was only interested in the pictures anyway as my German has rusted away to almost nothing!

Skarper, it might be the file size. Did you download the "compact" (18Mb) version? All of mine came out OK.

Beautifully presented set of rules, 108 pages. Sanitised German flags, and Nazi disclaimer on page one. Its very bold publishing these in Germany and I commend the authors.

Nobody does data like the Jerries! There is plenty here in the tables, and I'll be having alook through to see how the mechanisms work. I couldnt access the tutorial first time round so I'll give it a second go in a mo.

This is a labour of love here guys, and generously made available FOC. I'll report back when Ive had a proper read. Meanwhile, if you saw this game at Hamburg, how did it look for playability on the day?

Lovely buildings = what make are they please?

PS

just had a look at the tutorial examples, and the mechanics there seem quite easy to understand. Sherman vs Tiger – well, it wasn't quite as one sided as one might have thought! Sherman 3 dice to total up and beat Tiger value of 10 for 1 "hit", Tiger gets 4 dice to total up and beat sherman value of 8. Simples!
