Small unit tactics in unusual situations.

"The author recounts several World War II unusual engagements in the hopes of preparing for future situations. He recalls the surprise attack at Paislinis, the overrunning of a regiment's position by super-heavy tanks and a superheavy tank blocking a reinforced regiment"

Interesting story about that KV1.

Interesting story about that KV1.

It is a fairly well known story. It is recounted in detail by the Divisional commander (Rause) in his post-war book. There are also several photos of the tank taken after it had been destroyed.

Contrary to what the US manuscript says, it was a KV-2, not a KV-1.

What I find interesting is that every account I read of the event tells something different. So many aspects are told, in different places, that it is hard sometimes to know if it is the same story.
