I've been trying out felt roads for use with Hexon. They seem to work well.

Where did you get the white blocks for the units, they look really nice. (so does the terrain and the roads work well)

I have used felt roads with my Hexon II terrain as well, a d they seem to adhere to the flock very well indeed.

I also use felt roads, they 'stick' very well to the hexon.

Thanks! I should be able to find an old set or two around somewhere.

I've used less than half the tablets in the set so far, but I'm always on the lookout for more in case I want to progress to Koenigsberg!

The blocks are a handy size and have a nice chunky feel, better than original Kriegsspiel blocks IMO.

The sizes may not comply with particular rule requirements, but for any hex/grid games they now allow me to fight more or less any 18th or 19th century battle.

"progress to Koenigsberg"

I suspect you mean Koeniggratz.

I have done Koeniggratz with Rifle & Kepi, but I slightly cheated and used brigade bases rather than regimental ones.

It is a very big battle but interesting.

Whoops, quite right, and too late for me to send this error to the memory hole!

I tried making railroad tracks on felt, by making a cardstock cutout of the ties, spraypainting them in brown on a strip of gray felt, and then spraying on silver rails using a separate cardstock cutout. They came out OK, but not great. I haven't played 6mm in so long they don't get any use.

I just use the tracks from the Irregular 6mm train set. Unlike roads they don't usually need to go over hills.

I've just posted a picture of my layout for Solferino with all the roads in place.

That looks really good.

Using Hexon and the blocks does look and feel 'neat and tidy'. I wish I'd pursued this years ago. I could have explored all sorts of rules and got a lot more gaming done, rather than committing myself to endless painting and a growing lead mountain.
