All, So I am painting up 15mm Blue Moon FFL and Arabs for a friend. I know that everyone seems to be singing their praises of late, and they are nicely made figures. However, when I opened up a pack of Chasseurs D'Afrique, I expect to see saber wielding cavalry. What do I find, Legionnaires on horseback!!! This is so incorrect, and yet they are listed as Chasseurs in the catalog. These guys have long overcoats, backpacks and infantry rifles. Not a single figure carries a saber. |

Have they sent you the mule company riders instead of the Chasseur d'Afrique riders? |

I didn't purchase the figures, the fellow I am painting for did. I can say that they are mounted on horses, not mules, and the pack includes a mounted officer and a bugler, also dressed as infantry. The pack is clearly labeled as "Chasseurs d'Afrique" |

To be certain, I just looked at the Blue Moon website. The figures I have, are definitely the ones pictured in the photo. The "Mule Company", is just a few pack mules with a handler and a mountd officer, so even that set is incorrect. |

The Legion didn't have a cavalry regiment until after the RCW if I remember right. Had to find a place to use all those Russian cavalrymen. Have no idea what uniform they wore either. By this time period they should be khaki anyway. The only Legionaries on horse back prior to this was officers, couriers and a couple others, usually riding the officer's second horse. At least that is all I can remember at the moment. |
