Seems the pressure on Assad is ratcheting up a bit, in the region:

On the flip side, I guess you could say these measures are to contain him from trying to draw other nations into the war, in a more direct matter.

Either way, it appears Russia isn't happy with the situation, calling any "no-fly zone" implementation illegal.

Interesting, they aren't concerned about the legalities of the attacks on Syrian civilians.

Oh well, I submit the info, since it makes for good fodder for hypothetical air battles, if you are looking for them. Might be refreshing to have someone other than the Israelis shooting Syrian jets out of the sky.

If you want to up the degree of difficulty, run a game like the Balkans No-Fly Zone enforcement by NATO. That'd be a bit more challenging, since the Syrians have more operational jets, and probably have Russian SAM crews too.

1/600th, or 1/300th scale for your miniatures.

In 1/300th scale, you've got a better selection of SAMs and radars available for your gaming needs.

Hopefully, Oddzial Osmy will eventually correct that, at some point, but for now, it might be the best way to go, unless you are on a tight budget, or need the gaming space the smaller minis offer.

I will play modern jets in 1/600 (anything post-Korea), and sprinkle in a few of those AAA and SAM installations from Fight's On.

"Interesting, they aren't concerned about the legalities of the attacks on Syrian civilians."

I never thought the Rebs had any legitimacy. They look worse every day.

Implementing the no fly zone would be a declaration of war. I wonder if US/UK/France/Israel will be able to escalate the conflict before either Assad defeats the remaining "rebels" or the Russians become more involved.

I love 1/600th Modern aircraft. I have some from Tumbling dice for the Indian-Pakistan conflicts. I must get some more for the Middle East.

The Syrian army, and its allies do seem to be on a roll, recently.

Of course, apparently a bunch of Syrian military leaders just defected to Turkey, so that should make things a bit harder.

Wonder if the Russkies are providing leadership, and if a "no-fly" zone is instituted, if they'll be providing pilots and SAM operators, like in previous conflicts, to combat that.

I'm guessing yes, so enforcing a "no-fly zone" may be a bit harder than anticipated.

We could use some SA-3s and SA-6s, amongst other SAMs, in 1/600th scale. Some ZSU-23/4 Shilkas would be well received too.
