Just a post on my blog about getting free artificial grass samples to use as modelling materials for your projects! Has anyone else used this stuff yet?

I have a number of crop fields on my table like these. Along with other carpet fragments.

Grab the free samples in the Home Depot or Lowes carpet/rug section.

i too spent a few mins asking for samples from a variety of suppliers some were more generous than others but well worth it for our clubs african games, great idea.

I've picked up a couple of samples of artificial grass.

I have yet to use any of them, but most manufactures will send samples if contacted.

I got a piece of the tan/brown sample and used it as some bushes/tall grass details on a couple of rubble piles.

I think I'll have a go at creating something this weekend, I'm quite tempted to try a crop field or two complete with hedges/fences, see how that turns out (I'll pop some pics up when I'm done)
Has anyone got any photos of stuff made with the turf to inspire me?

Yes. One of the local suppliers used to have a bin out the front for free samples. I've got around a tables worth in handy field sized amounts…. grin

i used some of the shorter turf by sticking it down to some 3mm mdf board then stuck some walling around it for a small crop field, sorry no pics of it.

I tried your idea & already got two nice & lush 20x30cm grassmats delivered to my door today! Brilliant!
