link I've revamped the blog's scenario pages a little. We're mostly playing classical period, so a single page for all of the ancients scenarios became rather unwieldy

Not a great deal of scope for manouevre then? :) Given your historical commentary, some sort of 'pursuit' rule would definitely be needed to prevent the effect of a single unit breaking it's opponent and then wheeling to roll up the line. Possibly this is where the greater discipline of the Spartans could be effective

Hi Peter – didn't realise you could read my mind!? Actually, our rules do have scope for pursuit rules, they just aren't usually applied to hoplites. We could maybe change that on this occasion. |
