I see that Hannants has the Zvezda 15mm hard plastic T-72, Abrams and Bradley listed on their 'Future Releases' page…
But its hard making anything out on the Zvezda site.

Does anyone have specifics of the release date?

Mehoy Nehoy13 Jun 2013 1:52 a.m. PST

I looked about a week or so ago. The only 'date' I found was 'summer 2013' so don't hold your breath…

21/06/2013 according to plastic soldier company:

A lot more expensive than their existing range. With discounts QRF are cheaper.

VonTed13 Jun 2013 6:26 a.m. PST

Are there not usually 5 tanks to a box?

Gennorm13 Jun 2013 6:44 a.m. PST

No that's PSC's own brand. Zvezda are one to a box.

VonTed13 Jun 2013 6:47 a.m. PST

Ouch…. guess I am not nearly as excited about these as I once was :(

Lion in the Stars13 Jun 2013 12:22 p.m. PST

It'd be worth it for 1/100 scale Su25s and Hinds.

Hazza31B13 Jun 2013 12:58 p.m. PST

except the hinds are 1/144

Sparker13 Jun 2013 2:36 p.m. PST

Thanks for the info guys – fingers crossed!

I don't think Zvezda are going to quadruple their prices for these…the 'Art of Tactic' range are currently retailing from Hannants at 2.50 GBP each…

I see massed formations of T-72s requipping the Moldovan Workers and Peasant's Army's (KkAKa) elderly fleet of T34-85s…

@ Sparker:

But in tPSC store the vehicles are 6,5£ each – though if you buy them in "platoon sets" its 16 quids for three.
When shipping added (15% to europe) three BTR-80 (which do look rather excellent in photos, though cant say same about abe..) will cost around 21 euros which really isnt bad. Ofc the art of tactics models are cheap as butter, but hey, everything cant be free for ever + there is propably larger markets for WW2 than modern in 15mm scale > production runs are smaller.

I will give it a shot and get BTR-80 platoon for my chechen war-era russians. That T-72B w/K5 looks kinda lame, but definetly better than abe. Cant say much about bradley, but at least it seems to be riveted :P

Dang, was hoping for another source for 1/100 helos that aren't $20 USD resin/metal kits.

@ Lion:

So did we all, so did we all.. :P
I do understand the selection of 1:144 (fits into same size of packaging than 1:100 AFVs – as well the fact that all earlier airassets have been made in that scale, or smaller) and they will work nicely as air-asset "knot in a finger" and ofc and after all, strafing hind is a strafing hid, and no matter in which scale, someone is going to get hurt.

I hope they would expand their range, I was kinda dissapointed when they announced they were going with BTR-80 instead of BMP-2. After all, BMP-2 is no match for bradley in armor (though, in firepower), but neither (and even less) is BTR-80.

Also, 1:100 BM-27/30 would be appreciated.

I'm only just getting into moderns and waiting on these was one of the reasons I was putting off the decision to go 15mm or 20mm. Having seen what's on offer and the price I'm pleased I've gone 20mm. And my failing eyesight of course which means my days of painting 15s to a standard that I'm happy with are over sadly….

Etranger15 Jun 2013 3:42 a.m. PST

Lion, there are l/100 prepainted Hinds from one of the magazine partworks that show up from time to time. I've got a brace. They cost around $lO each.

PilGrim16 Jun 2013 5:11 a.m. PST

I think I'll wait for the actual release as the PSC price is way too high in comparison to the Art of Tactic sets.

Sarmor16 Jun 2013 9:07 a.m. PST

Zvezda's modern vehicles and aircraft (but not infantry) will probably be more expensive than their WW2 sets. You can preorder them from one of the online shops here in Poland and they cost twice as much as the WW2 vehicles.
Nevertheless, they're still quite cheap – definitely not 6.50GBP

mwnciboo02 Aug 2013 3:52 p.m. PST

I've bought some off Will at PSC to do a review on my Blog.

It's 6 weeks later and PSC still haven't had the stuff of Zvezda, and the cost was £6.50 GBP.

I'm not sure if that's extra retail margin or what, but it does mean with my QRF Discount and various other elements it's significantly cheaper to get QRF.

I still want to see them up close before I give judgement.

PilGrim10 Aug 2013 2:47 a.m. PST

There's a vid on the Zvezda site showing the T72 assembly. Firstly there are 2 sprues, which may account for the price, secondly it looks very good.

Sparker10 Aug 2013 3:50 p.m. PST

There are 2 sprues, but, at least with the Abrams, that still amounts to 1 AFV…

T-72 is looking good – more info here, including vid alluded to above:
