A decent game of They Couldn't Hit An Elephant:

I like the game! Pretty cool. However, I think I'd try and find a way to minimize those markers on the back of the stands. They really detract from the look of the figs, IMHO.

Thanks,

John

Ya, it's hard to find the balance between keeping the regiments straight and +50 eyeballs that need assistance.

I'm thinking a less-white paper with darker printing.

Congratulations! It looks very nice. I wish I'd thought to put the ground cloth over the rather awkward hills we used. The R Fire & Fury guys recommend white letters on a black background as being less obtrusive. Our next commemorative may be the 3rd July cav battle at Gettysburg. Good gaming!

Thanks. Playing a game with Ed Mohrmann and an an infantry man with a joy for gaming and an experienced game player will keep you on your toes for sure.

Scott Mingus' Crossed Sabres gives us 9 excellent cavalry fights from Brandy Station to Gettysburg. I plan on playing each as close to their anniversary date as possible.

I'm beginning to think that getting terrain right is an art and a much more vital part of scenarios than most folks think. We'll learn from each other's AARs and do our game set ups better to give our gaming friends better experiences.

John, it was a great game and super gaming experience,
enhanced no end by your preparation, planning, scenario
design and GM'ing !

Well-done X 3 !!!

If John runs this at a con somewhere, and y'all are
there, join in ! Great scenario and very well-run!

I appreciate that, Ed.

I'd love to get this on a 12x6 with 3 players a side….I think it'd be a close run thing on who wins.

John,

Great set up and sounds like a good game.

With your help. You saved me a bunch 'o painting, like not having to do 120 infantry figures….or two regiments on both sides.

Glad my old command is still on the table.

Cool game

John Thomas811 Jun 2013 10:26 a.m. PST

It was. I'm running it again at Southern Front, hopefully with more north-south space so the Reserve Brigade gets deployed correctly.

What is great about this scenario is that it doesn't require points, you have to general well to do well.
