While I havent worked with or played in a while, I still enjoy the game and am satisfied with the little part I had in the game.

It isn't available any longer, is it? I own the earlier version. It's pretty cool.

Thanks,

John

If you are referring to the Introductory Box Set, a revised edition is currently in the works and should be out later this year.

But if you mean BattleTech in general, the setting is alive and well; with a number of "3145" books (including an upcoming field manual) bringing "classic" BT into the Dark Age, and a new fast-play rulebook called Alpha Strike also on the way.

After Clix, Jihad, RotS, and all that other nonsense… I just stopped caring about battletech.

I used to love it.

I have over 600 mechs.

I haven't played a game in close to 2-3 years

Hi, I meant the box set. Glad to hear a new one will be coming out.

Thanks,

John

Do the "fast play" rules have the players tracking heat, or have the effects been factored into the units' stats?

Do the "fast play" rules have the players tracking heat, or have the effects been factored into the units' stats?

Alpha Strike has (or will have) heat effects factored into the "OV" value seen on each Unit Card, as well as a more streamlined heat track to try and manage.

There should be a couple of examples in the AS discussion topic. (Also, pretty much any of the BattleForce/Quick-Stike Unit Cards on the Master Unit List website will be fine for AS, give or take.)
