link After Action Reports on my blog. I have photos of the first game. But no photos of this afternoon's Darkest Africa 1914 between German colonial troops and British regulars. Regards, Blake |

Hi, how long did the games last? How did you like TSIA vs regular TSATF? Any plans to try TSIA with Native units? Thanks, John |

Most TSIA games last about 1-1.5 hours. The British Colonial Egypt 1882 game lasts about 2 hours. I've run native troops against the Europeans. I have Ruga-Rugas, Congolese Natives, and Congo Arabs in addition to my Belgian askaris, British regulars and Indian troops, and German colonial forces. I'd like to add on about 64 Masai to round out my Darkest Africa forces. The native forces have a mixed record. Sometimes, they've done well, other times they've gotten their behinds handed to them. Just depends on the players, the scenarios, and the cards/dice. I use a modified TSIA without the event cards. It uses the TSIA quick play sheet. But each unit is about 10 figures and I turn over cards for each squad like TSATF. Also use 50% casualty rule for a unit to fallback to regroup or rout without a leader. I also rules for Congolese "magic" against Belgian Force Publique troops. But most of the games have been Germans vs. Belgians or Germans vs. British for early WWI in German East Africa. |
