I'm getting started painting the Foundry Afghan Regular cav. It's been 15 years since I bought them but what the heck! Any uniform ideas for the cav in sun helmets? Also the guard cav. I think have brass helmets with a red plume and blue coats. Is that correct? There is so little on the Afghan Army 1870's-1880's. I'm set on the uniforms for the Herati and beehive hatted cav. Thanks in advance for any insights you may have on the uniforms. Jim |

The old Osprey book says they bought used and worn out uniforms, mostly European. So, check your Army Surplus catalogs for 1874. The Frontier Afghan Regular cavalry look awfully "Dragoony" to me, so I painted them that way. |
