I got my order in from Shapeways recently, but now I see that I need to 'clean' them up. There is some 'print lines' that need to be smoothed out. What is the best way to do this? Emery board? Files? Do I need a NIOSH mask? Since I do not know what their 'soft white flexible' material is, I could use some help. Thanks!

I though you were supposed to use some sort of solvent. |

Do you have mold lines or "stepping"? If it is stepping contact Shapeways. They usually replace the item free of charge. |

I've found a good heavy coat of spray paint will cover a lot of the roughness. Of course, if you have a lot of fine detail you want to protect, that may not be the best option. But for spaceships, it works. |

Apparently "Strong and Flexible" is Nylon. shapeways.com/materials There's also material safety sheet links in the individual entries. PDF link "Potentially explosive dust" is always comforting phrase. (Although you could say the same thing about plain white flour.) |
