J. Albert Morales' recent article in Ancient Warfare, "Could the Han Chinese have defeated the Macedonian Army? – The War of the Heavenly Horses," got me thinking
What's the "gouge" in the spring of 2013 on a decent line of 28mm Han Chinese
???? I'd read here on TMP that Newline, once-upon-a-time, had 28mm Han, but either that was a mis-type, or they abandoned that line??
I should add that I am really after Han figures that would serve well for the period ca. 100BC to maybe 180AD. I am thinking not so much of "The War of the Heavenly Horses," as about some "What Ifs?"
1) What if
Crassus hadn't botched his Parthian Campaign and the Roman Republic, however fleetingly, had the chance to butt heads with the Han?
2) What if
Nero hadn't been such a , and an army built around Legio I Adiutrix Pia Fidelis, had, however fleetingly, had the chance to butt heads with the Han?
3) What if
Trajan had been in better health, hadn't died right after his Parthian Campaign, had crushed the Second Jewish Revolt, and the Roman Empire, however fleetingly, had the chance to butt heads with the Han with Trajan, the soldier-emperor, in command?
4) What if
Verus had been in better health, his legions had not contracted some plague in the East in 165AD, Verus hadn't died right after his Danube Campaign in 168AD, and instead
after crushing the Marcomanni, Verus had returned to the East to lead a new campaign against the Parthians? Might the Roman Empire, however fleetingly, had yet another chance to butt heads with the Han?
