Frustrated after having fruitlessly seeking 15mm figures suitable for a projected female regiment, for my Imagi-Nation, some time ago I chose to convert some of those I already had.

Thus I picked a handful of Marlburians from Minifigs, Roundway and Peter Pig, besides of a couple of Sci-Fi miniatures from Blue Moon (Shivans were they called?) and started working hard as a Frankenstein apprentice, with the result you can see below:

"Well, that wasn't that bad" --I told to myself, as trying to self-persuade me the huge amount of work invested had been worth the time…

Until we switched rules. After adopting Beneath the Lily Banners and testing it some times, I realized I'd have no chance other than doubling my regiments' size… *gasp*

My scratch built female regiment was deliberately put aside while I started working on the rest of units. However, sooner or later it would come its turn. I started getting anguished at the prospective. But a few days ago Goddess Fortune (and TMP!) came to my help, thanks to this auction I happened to find in a TMP thread.

"Hey, these do seem Minifigs!" --I said, and quickly wrote asking to Dave Ryan of Caliver Books.

"YES" --he answered-- "35NR – russian Nap 15mm"

Again, they would need some conversion --but a lot less work: just replacing headgear where necessary, enlarging a few cuffs and little else. And there is what the regiment looks like, once completed to the 18 figures prescribed by BLB:

True that the formerly strict uniformity has been disrupted by a variety of skirts, coats and shirts --but they still look nice, don't you believe?

Very nice!

I did up a FOW russian infantry battalion (with artillery and PO2 air support – night witches) for my wife.

Lots of green stuff was involved.
