Falkirk and District Wargames Club and South East Scotland Wargames Club were both happy to support another National Museums of Scotland event, this time the Wartime Experience at the National Museum of Flight.

Great to see two good Scottish Clubs putting on some real Historical Wargaming. Congratulations to both clubs and to the National Museum of Scotland for another great event.

I'm sorry to have missed them!

Very cool!

What qualifies as 'not great' weather in Scotland?

Keraunos22 May 2013 11:29 p.m. PST

no blue sky but also no heavy rain or strong wing = not great.

any sign of blue sky counts as great, even if it is raining overhead.

only heavy rain counts as rain, light rain, drizzle, small showers do not count as rain. they are negligible in any calculation.

having a photo of the sun from someone else's country with you adds 10% to the quality rating of any given day.

The thing to remember about Scottish weather is that warm sunshine is not great either. This brings out the dreaded 'Scottish Midges' in vast swarms!

Weather in Scotland is such variable entity in that it is well known that in Scotland you can have four seasons in the one day.

I have been known to wear sunscreen and gloves on the same day and thats only in the back garden.

I've also been all over Scotland and have never seen a Midge close up never mind been bitten.

Don't let Scottish weather put you off, it's a great place to be.

As an Englishman who has lived in Scotland for 13 years now I can concue that it is a geat place to be.

As Jim says the interesting thing about the weather is it's variability.

"Weather in Scotland is such variable entity"

I pass over a roundabout on my way to work and am constantly amazed by the fact that there is always at least three weather types at it…. You cannot enter and leave the roundabout with the same weather unless you do a u turn!
