I keep looking through my copy of BattleSystem and would love to play it.I havent found any sort of stats for giant spiders-does any body use them in their game, and do you just proxy a stat line for them?

As per the rulebook, pp. 104-105, the 2nd Ed. AD&D Giant Spiders should be as follows:

MV: 3"
Hits: 3
AD: 12 (starts at 10, up one for Poison)
AR: 7
Morale: 14

Remember: spiders can climb castle walls as if it were level ground… I had a unit of these attack a castle, and it really creeped everyone out when I described what it would be like to see a sea of Giant Spiders running across the field in front of the castle, and then to watch them climb the walls, and crest the merlins…

Giant Spider figures are easy to get, and very inexpensive, to boot! I picked up some of the rubbery types at a local toy/hobby store; all I had to do was to apply The Dip, matte clear coat, and mount them (Hot Glue on Plexi-Glass bases, matte clear coat on the base makes them translucent, turning almost invisible when placed on the tabletop). They look great, and they have a decidedly creepy effect upon the opponents' morale. Gotta love it! Cheers!

Thanks Sgt.Slag!I have some old WFB plastic spiders from the 7ed box set that I'm going to use, minus the riders, for my 15mm.That means my spiders will be seriously large.

Do you have any sort of point value?

On page 117, it lists Hell Hounds (roughly equivalent in game stats) as having 22 points for each figure. I would go with 22-30, for each Spider figure. If you decide to add a Morale Check caused by fear, as they crawl up/over defensive barriers, then I would suggest bumping up the point value by 10 each. Cheers!
