I have received a couple of emails recently from Skytrex advising certain ranges having been taken over by others. Is anyone aware of the fate of their magnificent (yes, I know they are pricey! ) 1:700 "Trafalgar" range? I hope some brave soul in the hobby picks up these molds to produce, I'll be in line for models for sure
Cheers,

I believe they are planning to get out of wargaming altogether and concentrate on producing accessories for model railways. |

Hello: Thanks for the responses. Was hoping someone here, in the industry or otherwise, might know. Perhaps someone "happening by" might yet have information. I may try asking Skytrex directly ultimately. Cheers,

i have been in touch with them over their 20mm modern ranges, but they want far too much money for it, so unless you want to lose money on your investment i doubt much will be sold off. |

I imagine at some point, when reality sets in that they are over-priced, they may just cut them, in order to earn at least something from the deal. Of course, that assumes rational decision making, which isn't always a given in business. |

Try Alnavco: Thanks, I have been dealing with them for many years, but not in the past several months. I note, with some hope, the mention on your link of the "Trafalgar" line and new models but I have been unable to locate a link to them on the site? When I last spoke to them (Alnavco) they were down to a single 1:700 Trafalgar kit and Skytrex had just recently pulled all the SOL models for retooling. They expected to be back in about 8 months
that was two or three years ago. i doubt much will be sold off. That is what I have feared these past three years. No question these models (1:700 sail) are quite decidedly a "niche" interest. Yet such as Navis and others are as well, so I was/am hoping someone like Alnavco might take the leap with them. The Paschal family has certainly been dedicated to naval model collecting for several decades now. Of course, that assumes rational decision making, which isn't always a given in business. I fear that will follow in this case as well. Cheers,

The ALNAVCO site does not list any Age of Sail in there catalog anymore, not even GHQ which surprises me. |

Well I sure hope they find a buyer for their 15mm Post War range – I'd stock up but I don't want to get a second mortgage just yet
